Time Line Project

Beside learning more about the aviation history this time line project will help children to understand some basic methods of organizing the information.

A time line is a number line that shows important events in a period of history, or in a person’s life. It is an effective way to organize information so that it can be understood at a glance.

A straight time line shows events that have taken place, theorder in which they occurred, and the relative amount of time between events. A Tiered Time line includes basic facts that connect with the date.

To create a formal, visual time line, synchronous dates would have to be evenly spaced along a long sheet of paper/poster, etc.Chose a line ration (1 cm=1 year) then place the dates in the correct position along the time line.

You can use crayons, masking tape or any other materials to draw the visual time line. Also, chose the length of time you want to represent according to children age.

Another project you can do is to create visual time lines by countries and compare them. Also observe that there are large time gaps in early aviation history, and that the gaps become smaller as the 19th century approaches.
